HMS Lowestoffe

A frigate in which I served as a Lieutenant under my good friend, Captain William Locker. It was a 5th rate frigate with 32 guns and launched at West's Yard, Deptford in 1761.

The Lowestoffe was present at the capture of Toulon in 1793 and was also with the fleet under the command of Admiral Hotham in the action in the Gulf of Genoa in March 1795 (at which I was present in HMS Agamemnon).

In August 1801, while under the command of Captain Robert Plampin, she was wrecked off Inagua in the West Indies. All her crew were saved.
