HMS Raisonnable

My first ship, in which I served as a midshipman under my uncle, Captain Maurice Suckling. She was a 3rd rate battleship with 64 guns and launched at Chatham Royal Dockyard in 1768.

The Raisonnable was still a new ship when I joined her in December 1770. Later, in April 1801, she was in Sir Hyde Parker's division at the battle of Copenhagen.

She also took part in Sir Robert Calder's action against the fleet I chased to the West Indies, off Cape Finisterre in July 1805.

She was finally broken up in 1815.
