HMS Theseus

My flagship during the attack on Tenerife, July 1797. She was a 3rd rate battleship with 74 guns and launched at Perry's Yard, Blackwall, London in 1786.

The Theseus also took part in the Battle of the Nile under the command of the gallant Captain Ralph Miller, one of my closest associates. He also commanded her in Sir Sidney Smith's successful action against Bonaparte at Acre in 1799 but, sadly, Captain Miller was killed by an exploding shell.

In 1809, she took part in Lord Gardner's action in the Basque Roads.

She was broken up at Chatham in 1814.
