HMS Vanguard

My flagship at the Battle of the Nile, 1 August 1798. She was a 3rd rate battleship with 74 guns and launched at Deptford Royal Dockyard in 1787.

The Vanguard had not taken part in any notable action before I hoisted my flag in her in March 1798. After the glorious victory at the Nile she remained my flagship until 1799.

She later took part in the second battle of Copenhagen in 1807 and was preserved at Plymouth as a powder store ship. She was finally broken up in 1821.
