During the late war (1793-1802), I was in five Actions with the Fleet of the Enemy:

14 February 1797 (Battle of Cape St Vincent)
1/2 August 1798 (Battle of the Nile)
2 April 1801 (Battle of Copenhagen)

I was also in:

3 actions with frigates
6 engagements against batteries
10 actions in boats employed in cutting out vessels from harbours
3 captures of towns

I served on shore with the Army four months and commanded the batteries at the sieges of Bastia and Calvi (Corsica 1794).

I assisted at the capture of:

26 sail of the line
6 frigates
4 corvettes
11 privateers
50 merchant vessels.

In which service I lost my right eye and arm and was severely wounded and bruised in my body.
