Editor's Note

Vice Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson KB, Duke of Bronte and Commander-in-Chief of His Majesty's ships and vessels in the Mediterranean, was killed in action during the glorious victory of the Combined Fleets of France and Spain on the 21st October 1805. For an account of this memorable battle, won at such great cost to the British, I refer you to the dispatch of Admiral Collingwood.
